As an early adopter of digital technologies in the business, and with a strong preference for safe experimentation with AI tools in Portable’s work practices, I was invited to share my early insights from the usage of these tools and what their wider adoption means for human-centred design practices more broadly.
This panel discussion helped me to solidify my position on the best means of ethically and safely embracing AI's transformative potential in design. I formulated nuanced and human-centred positions on the critical importance of ethical considerations and responsible AI usage, reinforcing my commitment to ensuring that AI tools serve to augment human creativity and problem-solving effectively. The conversation highlighted the evolving nature of design practices and the need to continuously adapt to new technologies as ethically-minded designers.
I explored the integration of AI tools like ChatGPT into human-centred design practices. My contributions focused on the safe experimentation with AI, sharing insights on its potential to enhance design processes and address ethical considerations. This initiative placed Portable at the vanguard of discussing AI's role in design, influencing how designers, strategists, and data practitioners approach AI integration.
“Amid all the noise around AI and ChatGPT, it was perhaps the most balanced, thoughtful and credible discussion I’ve come across.”
